Application Guideline for the 2026 Sun Yat-sen University(SYSU) Cambodia Aerospace Information Engineering Talent International Student Program
I. Program Introduction
The Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) Cambodia Aerospace Information Engineering Talent International Student Program aims to establish a stable student referral and program collaboration mechanism between Sun Yat-sen University and the Cambodian Academy of Digital Technology (CADT). Upon recommendation by CADT and assessment by SYSU, Cambodian students will be admitted to pursue a Master of Professional Degree in Electronic Information (0854) under the SYSU Cambodia Aerospace Information Engineering International Student Program. The program seeks to support Cambodia’s capacity building in aerospace information engineering and the development of spatial information applications, while promoting exchanges and cooperation between China and Cambodia in higher education, digital technology, and aerospace science and technology.
CADT is responsible for assisting with student recruitment and candidate recommendations. SYSU independently conducts application review, admission, training, assessment, and degree conferral in accordance with laws and regulations. Upon admission, students will complete a full-time, 2.5-year program at the School of Systems Science and Engineering, SYSU, fulfilling all training requirements including coursework, professional practice, thesis or practical project completion, and defense in accordance with the SYSU training plan. Students who meet graduation and degree requirements and pass relevant SYSU evaluation procedures will be awarded the corresponding certificate and conferred the Master’s Degree in Electronic Information by SYSU.
This program does not operate under joint training, credit transfer, or dual-degree models.

III. Eligibility
Applicants must meet both the general admission requirements for international students at Sun Yat-sen University and the specific requirements of this program as follows:
Nationality: Possesses nationality of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
Academic Qualification: Hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
Academic Background: Possess a background in Electronic Information, Computer Science, Communication Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related STEM fields, with a solid foundational knowledge.
Language Proficiency:
Demonstrate proficiency in English sufficient for academic study and daily communication; OR be a native English speaker; OR possess an English proficiency level equivalent to IELTS 5.5 or above; OR other English proficiency certificates deemed equivalent by Sun Yat-sen University; OR provide proof of prior instruction in Chinese or English.
Health Status: Physically and mentally healthy, meeting the Quality Standards for Higher Education of International Students in China (Trial) and SYSU’s admission physical examination standards. Must be free from any diseases that prohibit entry into or long-term residence in China under Chinese laws and regulations.
Conduct & Character: Friendly toward China, law-abiding, with no criminal record and no history of violating the rules and regulations of previous educational institutions.
Nomination Eligibility: This program adopts a targeted “recommendation-assessment” selection mechanism. Applicants must be nominated by the Cambodian Academy of Digital Technology (CADT). The School of Systems Science and Engineering, SYSU will organize interviews and assessments to select the best candidates for admission.
IV. Application Procedure & Timeline
(I) Phase I: Nomination by Cambodian Side
Deadline: From the date of issuance until August 10, 2026
Procedure: Eligible Cambodian nationals shall submit applications to CADT. CADT will conduct preliminary screening based on academic performance, professional potential, and political integrity, and nominate outstanding candidates to the School of Systems Science and Engineering, SYSU.In principle, CADT shall recommend no fewer than 25 qualified candidates.
(II) Phase II: Online Application to SYSU
Nominated students must simultaneously log in to the SYSU International Student Application System to complete the online application:

(III) Phase III: Interview Assessment & Admission
The School of Systems Science and Engineering will conduct document review and interview assessments for nominated students (focusing on professional foundation, English proficiency, and comprehensive quality)to enroll 25-30 students andno fewer than 25 nominees per cohort. Sun Yat-sen University will admit students on a merit basis, with a target intake of 25–30 students per cohort.
Admission offers will be made based on assessment results. The SYSU Office of International Students’ Affairs will issue the Admission Notice to admitted students, who will then proceed with visa formalities.
V. Fees & Funding Arrangements

VI. List of Application Materials

SYSU International Student Application Form (generated by the system);
Original and photocopy of Bachelor’s Degree Certificate and Graduation Certificate (for current final-year students, provide a Certificate of Expected Graduation);
Complete official undergraduate academic transcript;
Official Letter of Recommendation issued by CADT (indicating reasons for recommendation and ranking);
Curriculum Vitae (in English);
Study Plan for Study in China (approx. 1,500 words, in Chinese or English, focusing on study plans related to aerospace information engineering);
English Proficiency Certificate (IELTS or equivalent test report or proof of English-medium instruction);
Photocopy of valid ordinary passport;
Foreigner Physical Examination Form (issued within the last 6 month, with photo and hospital seal);
Certificate of No Criminal Record;
Other supporting materials (e.g., research achievements, award certificates, optional).
